Who runs this list
Daniil Sokolov, Belgium. Contact: hello@cake.dev.
What it is for
One email to confirm your address, and one email when Cake opens. Nothing else. The legal basis is your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)), which you give by opening the confirmation link we email you.
What we store
Your email address, when you asked to join, and when you confirmed.
Who processes it
Cloudflare, Inc., as our processor, hosts this page, stores the list in a database kept in the EU, sends the emails, and runs the page analytics below: Cloudflare Web Analytics, and Cake, our own analytics service, which we operate on Cloudflare. Transfers are covered by Cloudflare's data processing addendum with standard contractual clauses.
How long
Unconfirmed addresses are deleted after 7 days. Confirmed addresses are deleted once the launch email is sent, or sooner if you ask.
Your rights
You can see, correct or delete your data, and withdraw consent at any time. Email us to be removed; no reason needed. You can also complain to the Belgian Data Protection Authority (dataprotectionauthority.be) or the authority where you live.
Measurement
These pages set no cookies. Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits and page speed in aggregate, without cookies or fingerprinting: the page address, the referring site, browser and device type, and load timings.
This site uses Cake analytics in Standard mode. Cake sets no cookie and stores nothing in your browser. To group the pages you view during one visit and to count daily visitors, Cake combines your IP address and your browser's user agent string with a random secret that this site's analytics generates each day and deletes 30 minutes after the day ends. The result is a key that identifies your visit for that day and cannot be recomputed afterwards. Session records that hold the key are kept for 90 days and are treated as personal data for that time. Cake derives your country and device class from the same request and keeps neither the address nor the user agent. Cake does not track you across other sites, sells nothing, and adds no other browser or device attribute. Cake records the page path, not the full address: the confirmation link's code is never sent, and the confirmation page is not counted at all.
We use both, on the basis of our legitimate interest, to see whether the page works and how people find it.
